Experience of a Lifetime!

Celebrate the holidays with a single session workshop hosted at one of Metro Vancouver’s premiere equestrian facilities. Open space, indoors, amazing animals, and creative puzzles, for a extraordinary one-time holiday experience to share with friends and family in your bubble.

The workshop is a private session provided to a single bubble of individuals. While indoors, all activities are held in a wide open space.

No experience necessary

Participants work through a series of non-mounted exercises with obstacle challenges. There is no riding and no prior horse experience is necessary.

We start from the beginning. Participants work with their horse and connect in new ways, as they engage together towards a specific goal.

It is a collaborative challenge, non-competitive, and a unique and powerful experience.

Program details

Experiential learning where the horse is the teacher. The workshop session is 90 minutes. It includes a group briefing that outlines the objectives and prepares the participants, followed by hands-on experiential learning exercises with the horses, and capped with a de-briefing where the observations and experiences in the arena are discussed and paralleled to everyday life. The perfect holiday activity for 2020!

Understanding your teacher.

The horse is the teacher! Participants receive a full orientation of the process and why we work with horses. Safety training is outlined before proceeding to meet the teachers.

There is no need to whisper. Here, participants will learn how to understand the many ways that horses “talk” and how to listen.

Building relationships.

Participants learn about herd behaviour and the similarities to human behaviour. Participants learn safety in regard to horsemanship and the importance of building a strong relationship and developing trust. Going through a variety of obstacles, the participants learn about leading and stopping their horse. They also learn how to groom and interact with their horse, while continuing to strengthen their human relationships.

Communication.

Participants are challenged to work with their team through a variety of obstacles. In order to find success, the participants need to communicate effectively, discuss different options, and work together.

Problem solving.

What is common sense and how can we use it to solve problems? The exercises are designed to promote group decision-making based on common sense in order to be successful and safe with their horses. This encourages teams to discuss their options and formulate a plan.
